Wii Connect24 shouldnt have anything to do with .. i have the same backup channel and i never turned of WiiConnect24 .. But you might have reiinstall the backup launcher .. Still WiiConnect24 is only for recieving messages and info while your Wii is off .. it has no role in games ..
